ELDERS’ RETIREMENT PROGRAM AND
SUPPLEMENTAL SECURITY
INCOME PROGRAM ORDINANCE
OPEN FOR COMMENT
The Tribal Council adopted, on an emergency basis, amendments to
the Elders’ Retirement Program and Supplemental Security Income
Program Ordinance at the Dec.14, 2016, Tribal Council meeting.
The primary purpose of the amendments is to add an Elders’ SSD
Program to allow Tribal Elders eligible for federal SSD benefits to
qualify for the Tribal Elder SSD Program. The proposed amend-
ments also clarify the current requirement that Elders may receive
payment under either the Elders’ Retirement, the Elders’ SSI or
the Elders’ SSD Programs. Elders may not receive payment under
more than one of these programs.
Tribal Council invites comment on the amendments to the Tribal
Elders’ Retirement Program and Supplemental Security Income
Program Ordinance. For a copy of the amendments, please contact
the Tribal Attorney’s Office at 503-879-4664. Please send your
comments to the Tribal Attorney’s Office, 9615 Grand Ronde Road,
Grand Ronde, Oregon 97347 or by e-mail to legal@grandronde.org.
Comments must be received by Feb. 15, 2017. 
