Enjoy these Eagle Cap Ex- treme articles written by third grade reporters. OOOPS! I fell on the ice again. It was slick at the Eagle Cap Extreme dog sled races. Ms. Christman, Mrs. Knifong, and Mr. Keffer’s class all went to the race. All the kids were sliding down the icy hill and eating lunch while we waited for the race to start. The dogs are barking loud. They are excited. Finally, it is time for the race to start. We watched about eight dog sled teams go by and then it was Morgan An- derson. Morgan had come to our class to teach us all about the race so we all knew Mor- gan. She even brought one of her dogs to the class. His name is Max. He was a very nice dog. We all cheered for Mor- gan and I drank hot chocolate while I watched the race. We watched about two more dog sled teams, but then we had to get back to school. On the way back to our school we saw someone stuck. At fi rst we did not recognize the peson stuck in the snow in their car. Then the bus got closer and we saw it was Ms. Pinkerton who was stuck. The bus got close so it could try and pull her car out of the snow. It didn’t work so someone else had to come help Ms. Pinkerton. Then we got back to the school from our exciting fi eld trip. — Kylee Cunningham The dogs went fast as they zipped by us. There were so many different kinds of dogs. There were malamutes and huskies. Also, we got to climb Photo by Ellen Morris Bishop Fourth graders from Enterprise Elementary School greet one of the dog race teams prior to the start of the Eagle Cap Extreme. There were cheering people everywhere. — Parker Magera We saw ice everywhere. It was so slick. But, that didn’t stop our classroom from going. We slid everywhere. Especial- ly down the big hill. That was my favorite part. I also loved seeing Morgan fl y by with her dogs Max, Sage, Mango, Jas- per, Inca, and Gizmo. Every- one was cheering for Morgan. She goes to High School in our school in Enterprise. The weather was a white-out. Ev- erything looked white except for the dogs, mushers, and sleds. I loved going to the race this year. Last year I went with my mom and the year before that I went to the vet check and the race with my dad. The rac- es are so fun. I love watching them ZOOM by. — Hannah Sheahan It was so slick when we got to the slope. But, it didn’t stop our class from trying to climb the big hill. We wanted to climb to the top until the race started. When the race started we watched. It was exciting watching the race. Morgan Anderson was probably the fastest one racing in the Eagle Cap Extreme. The one I thing I did not like was the weather. It did not please me at all. It was a real big storm and it was freezing cold. — Kaylee Eaves Brrrr! Snow is fl ying everywhere at Fergie. The weather is freezing up here at Fergie. It is like a blizzard. I could hardly see, but it is not like that every year. Morgan Anderson’s dogs ran so fast. I was so surprised her dogs could even see the ground in the snowy blizzard. I hope she wins with her fast dogs! — Tabby Schramm It was a snowy after- noon at Fergison Ridge. The sounds of barking dogs fi lled the air. The dogs and the mushers are all prepar- ing to win this race. It is time to race, and the dogs were jumping around and barking with energy and excitement. 5,4,3,2,1 the fi rst time of dogs are off….WOW! Look at them go! — Caleb Sheahan The air was fi lled with the sound of barking dogs. After each 3 minute intervals the dogs would rush by again and again barking and howl- ing. As the next set of mush- ers waited for their turn the announcer would talk bout the mushers and their dogs. It was really interesting. The dogs are so amaz- ingly awesome. Each team had at least 12 to 8 dogs. Some sleds raced the 200 and some raced the 100 and some the 31. NO matter how much they got fed the dogs ROCKED it or BARKED it. — Cami Word It was snowing at the Fergie Ski Resort. The dogs were really excited to race. The were jumping high in the air. Then it was time to see the dogs in action. The dogs ran as fast as they could when they were fi nally let out to run. It was great for Mor- gan Anderson. She was really fast with her dogs. When she went by the crown cheered for her. “ I hope she wins,” said one of my classmates. — Alisha Melville www.main-street-motors.com Old Fashioned Values Sales & Services 541-426-2100 Andy Crow 208-816-8349 311 West Main Street • Enterprise ,500 $28 85 $3,9 999 $15, ,885 $43 ,985 $30 999 $10, ,985 $29 1968 CHEVY 2002 DODGE 2009 DODGE 2007 FORD 2014 FORD 2006 FORD 2015 FORD CAMARO SS 396 SPORT COUPE GRAND CARAVAN EX RAM 1500 CREW CAB 4X4 EXPEDITION EL XLT EXPEDITION LIMITED EXPLORER LIMITED Stock # 10507 97,371 MI.
