There la larg acarclty In the receipt of
egg! tbl ea eon and J oat now aom of tho
dealer who bar Urge atock In cold atorag
far winter'! uee ar taking them out and put
ting them on tha market aa wry hlgb price era
ruling. Today tbe market la holding vary
Arm with price ranging from 28c to 2.9 He, with
moat of the aalei at the former figure.
Will Make winter law High.
The withdrawal of tbe egg from cold
atorag thla early In the een 1 a I moat aure to
cauae aom purse-tearing figure! to rule during
the winter month when the chicken refuse to
longer do their duty. Laat year tbl market
need a large number of cars of eaatern egg,
principally from Kanaaa, but thla season the
import! are very likely to break all recorda
for tha atock la cold atorag are nothing to
compare with tboee of the previou year. Tha
egg now In cold torage were put In at high
fignrea, tbe average being 18He a doaen, and
whenever tbe dealer ee chance to secure a
profit on their Inveatment the etocka ar taken
out.
Farmer Ar Holding fa Advance.
It now transpires that the production of egg
1 not o mll but that the farmer generally
ar holding their etocka for advanced figure.
If they pertt In doing thla and- ahlp their
etock ill it owe the market coUTd not with
atand the trln and would surely go down.
The future of the market, therefore, depend
upon tbe ben and the farmer.
Poultry Loan a Half Cent.
The receipt! In poultry tkl morning were
not heavy but the market la vary weak and It
will not take very heavy arrival! to esnse a
lump in existing figure. Today there- wae a
drop of He per pound in all poultry valuea and
another one of tha aam alse win vary likely
be mad tomorrow. The large receipt at thi
time are due to tbe holding of stock by the
farmer who were not content to tke the
high figure wblcb ruled lt week. At tht
time the market wai In good shape to handle
quite liberal arrivan, but thla week the op
poelt I the case.
Tint Dalle Watermelons Arrive.

Salmon Packing Continues Heavy.
Today' report from the Colimbt river aay
that tbe rannrrle are still bolly engaged In
packing and that th. flah I of good quality,
although more care haa to be evercieed In
selecting stock. Tbe cold atnrage plants are
running under full steam and will continue to
do so aa long aa there 1 any flah. In thi
city stark of fresh flah are plentiful with no
change! In price.
' Hop Market Betaln Strength.
Tha bop market retain It great etrength

for the hopgrower. From 30e to 28c I now

poee that before long tbe 28e mark will bo
reached. The reason for tbe unusually blgh
price this year I tbe failure of tbe foreign
crop. In England haa occurred on of the
arverfat blights known, while weather condi

for a' large crop " y
