H, Johnson, has been spending the past month with Mrs. 0. H. Way and sis ter, Miss Dayton, while the Johnson family have been to their summer home at tbe Lake of the Woods. Claude Millit, who came here with his family and his father to settle In their new home whlo bthey recent ly purchased, has returned to Fossil where he Is in business. His family remain in Ashland. Mrs. Ella Connor and daughter Lois, who have been guests this sum mer at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W, A. Turner on North Main street, left Monday night for Frultlands, -Idaho where Miss Connor will teauh dur ing tbe coming year. Dri Mattle Shaw, accompanied by her son Marvin, left Friday evening ror Portland where she will join her husband, Dr. Shaw, and will locate in that city. Tbe Drs. Shaw will have their office in the Medical building in Portland. Mrs. George Siemantel, who hai been visiting her daughter, Mrs. Verner 0. N. Smith in this city for the past two weeks, expects to leave this week for her home in Topeka, Kan. Fire Chief Roblson, -with his party of prospectors who bad been taking a vacation during the past two weeks, which was spent by hunting in the Sprague River district, has re turned home, Mr. and Mrs. Orren Stratton and son Byron, and Mrs. Bowles, mother of Mrs. Stratton of Brownsville, were over Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robinson of Ashland. Mesdames Stratton and Robinson are sisters. Miss Armeda Kaiser left Saturday for Oakland where she will teach dur ing the coming winter, after spend ing her summer vacation at her home in Ashland.' Rev. and Mrs. M. T. Wire of Grants Pass were in Ashland Monday. They came here to attend the funeral of the late Dr. Van Fossen and were guests at the home of W. D.
