OFFICIAL PAPER OF THE CITY OF MARSHFIELD. Official Paper of Coos County. AVOULD YOU CO BACK? T I HAT WAS an Interesting, time ly and vigorous address that Judge McGinn delivered before the Union Republican Club and which The Times printed yesterday Judge McGinn Is one of the big re publicans of the state who does not believe in the reactionary assembly plan. Ho struck straight from the" shoulder at the scheme that is now being fostered with so much carei Judge McGinn's speech rings strong and true and it Is wholesome music to hear a man speak fearless ly as ho did. Now what do you think Mr. Average Republican, are you in favor of the assembly plan? Do you want to go back to the sys tem of government by party ma chines and bosses and in behalf of the special Interests that influence those bosses, or would you rather see primaries and elections held In ' a fair and open manner in conformity with the spirit and letter of the di rect primary law? SHOP EARLY. I T IS NOW but a few weeks until , Christmas and thoughtful ones are shopping. They are wise for by shopping early they secure the ad vantage of the complete stock and Incidentally do not have to buy goods of balesmen and saleswomen who are hurried and weary from thp Christmas rush. It Is strange that more people do not shop early. It Is tho custom of the average man or woman to wait until a day or two provlous to Cluistmns and then to invade the stores with flying visits. They find the stores jammed with poople, tho clerks too busy to breatho and tho stocks well depleted. Those who mako It a point to Jo their shopping early avoid all this. Do your shopping early, secure bet ter service for jourse'f nnd Inciden tally aid tho store people. Coquille River Boat Almost Carried Out Over Bar at Bandon. A. ' J.
