pOH several days past mysterious
pasteboard cards about two
inches wide and two feet In length
liavo been making their appearance
around Marshfleld and North Bend.
On tho cards are printed the words,
"It Will Bo Built." No ostentation
marked the Initial appearance of tho
cards; fow peoplo knew tho meaning
of tho Inscription on the long narrow
pasteboard when first they began to
make their appearance In store and
olllco windows. Inquiry developed
tho fact that tho words referred to
tho Coos-Douglas electric railroad.
Soon everybody came to know this
and gradually tho first feelings of

CENSUS ItEPOKT.
A CAREFUL study of the lumber
and timber report of the Census
Department published elsewhere In
these columns will not be amiss. The
department has compiled some
highly Interesting figures dealing
with saw mills, logging camps,
values of timber and sawed logs and
the growth of tho industry. It is
pleasing to note that the figures com
piled by the department show that
since 1900 the most rapid growth of
tho logging Industry has been among
the Pacific Coast states. Nothing
could Illustrate more clearly the de
velopment of this section of the
United States.
