Beatty, who re cently retired from the federal dis trict bench of this state, and who yesterday, In Washington, submitted to an interview regarding Idaho af fairs, made the following statement: "I have read Judge Beatty's state ment and have only this to say: Judge Beatty for the past year seems to have utterly forgotten the high position he holds. During the last campaign for the senatorshlp ho used his position in a shameless and yrly dishonorable tray for his po al advantage. He did not hesi tate to demand and receive favors from those who had Important liti gation In his court, and so conducted himself as to compromise to a re markable extent his dignity and honor. I am sure that It Is to the credit and honor of the judiciary that ho Is on the way to Egypt." Irrigation development of the stato of Oregon was in tho right hands. The Oregon Development League is growing, and new memberships are being received. The following or ganizations have become members re cently: Gresham Commercial and Development League, Houlton-St. Helens Commercial Club, Hermlston Development League, and the Rainier Commercial Club. Persons having large tracts of land i suitable for colonization purposes should address the Oregon Develop ment League at Portland, giving full particulars. Large capital and active men are willing to colonize Oregon Just as they have Canada, Texas and other states, but it is absolutely nec essary that they should have iron clad options, good from 12 to 24 months. Every effort made hereto fore has failed for the lack of this option. The Portland's business men's ex cursion started this morning. They will be in Boise on Thursday, tho opening day of tho Moyer-Haywood trial. B WILSON & THOMAS Contractors and Builders Office fixtures a specialty. Store Fronts, Counters, Shelving.
