weeks, returned home Tuesday.
Gottfried Kampfcr, a prominent sheep
man from Cioss Keys, was in town Mon
day, his family accompanying him. Mr.
Kampfcr bought the Yaisli property on
lower Trout Creek.
George G. I'oindexter was in town on
Saturday on his way to' Ashwopd from
Dcrham ft Cowlcs.' sawmill. He has a
homestead near Ashwood and, is going
(hern to reside upon it. .
Terry Reed, of Culver, and his two
daughters, Miss Lillie Reed and Mrs.
Frank Osbnr.ic, left yesterday for Port
land, where they will spend about two
ivccks seeing the Lewis, and Clark Fair

by way of Harlow pass, and expect to

James R. Chrisman, of Lagonda, Mis
souri, has been in town several days dur
ing the week. He came here to defend
the homestead of the late Pressley A
Chrisman, of whom he is one of the heiis,
against the contest of Warren li. Mills.
The contest has" been dismiss-id by mo
(ion of contestant, some settlement having
been ai rived at. The homestead entrj
invjlved is situated on Agency Plains
,1r. Chrismnn expects to have it cultiva
ted dining the coming season.
