Contest Open to the Public School Teachers of
the City of Portland and the State of Oregon
This extraordinary Travel Contest opens at 8 o'clock tomorrow
morning and closes at 6 o'clock, June 17. It will be decided by popular
voting here at the store, ballots for which will be given with every cash or
credit purchase of 25c and above.
We have decided to send-
One Teacher from Portland, West of River
One Teacher from Portland, East of River
One Teacher from State, Outside of .Portland

During the 10 davs spent in New York, the
three Teachers will be given an expert guide, and
our New York manager will do cvervthing in his
power to make their stay as pleasant and profitable as
possible. Any of the following liners may be selected:

Points of the Contest
Again we state that the ballots will be given with
every purchase of 25c and above. .They will be issued in
multiples of 25, that is to say:
25c to 35c purchase calls for 25 votes
36c to 65c purchase calls for 50 votes
66c to 85c purchase calls for 75 votes
86c to $1 purchase calls for 100 votes
And all above $1.00 in the multiples
Ballots will be handed you by cashier or salesperson with either
take or send purchase.
' Ballots are to be voted at a large booth, located on main loor.
Each ballot bears a date,, ten days ahead, and may be Voted at the
The three teachers receiving the highest number of votes in their respective dis
tricts will be given choice of a trip to either Paris or London. First-class Pullman,
steamer and hotel accommodations provided for, with stopover in Chicago, if de
sired; 10 days' stopover in New York and 10 days in either Paris or London. The
fourth to highest in all districts, taken as a whole, will receive a trip to New York
with 10 da3s' stopover. To fifth highest a month's expenses at any Oregon beach.
