A Christmas Invitation
The Pacific Lutheran University Choir of the West, one of the best collegiate choirs in the country, will
present ‘A Christmas Invitation’ a holiday-themed performance, Wednesday, Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m. at
the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. The world premier show will showcase the latest work by Hollywood
composer J.A.C. Redford who has written scores for nearly 100 feature films. Tickets are $10 to $25.
Mississippi Tree Lighting Saturday
The historic Mississippi Dis-
trict of north Portland will host
its annual tree lighting ceremony
with a free musical event open
to all ages on Saturday, Nov. 28.
The lighting will take place from
5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Mississippi
Commons between North Failing
and Beech Street.
Attendees will be treated to free
tea, hot chocolate and cookies.
The neighborhood’s businesses
will also kick-off its Holiday Pass-
port during the event, distributing
special offers to shoppers of Mis-
sissippi Avenue.
