Psychological Drama -- Portland Playhouse,
the community organization that has trans-
formed an old church at 602 N.E. Prescott St.
into a theater space, presents ‘The Other Place”
a riveting psychological drama about dementia
and the puzzles of the human brain. Now play-

Saturday Market -- Portland Saturday Mar-
ket in Old Town has
opened for the 42nd
year bringing some of
Oregon’s best hand-
made products, good
eats and live enter-
tainment from street
musicians and other artists. Located next to
the Willamette River at 2 S.W. Naito Parkway,
Saturday Market is also open every Sunday
through Christmas Eve.
Wine and Spirits Fair -- Over 20 of Oregon’s
local wineries, distilleries and breweries will
be on hand offering complimentary samples
of their finest offerings at the spring Wine and
Spirits Fair at Spirit Mountain Casino in Grand
Ronde, Sunday, March 29, from noon to 5 p.m.
Guests can also sample cheeses, desserts and
snacks crafted by international chefs.
Swim Lessons for Spring Break -- Portland
Parks & Recreation is offering free swim les-
sons during Spring Break, for beginners, in-
cluding parent and tot classes. The sessions are
offered at the East Portland or Mt. Scott Com-
munity Centers. Registration is required and
space is limited. Call the East Portland center

Portland Farmers Market -- The Portland
Farmers Market at Portland State University
Career & Education
is now open on Satur-
days from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
in the South Park Blocks.
Some produce to expect during
the winter months include stacks of pur-
ple and green kale, broccoli and cauliflower,
carrots, parsnips, beets, apples, pears, winter
squash, potatoes, and onions.

Portland’s Groovin’ High Steppers offer Chica-
go Steppin’ classes at the Rockwood Commu-
nity Center in Gresham and the Colwood Golf
Center in northeast Portland. All levels are wel-
come. No partner is needed. First two lessons
are free; $20 monthly fee includes both loca-

Music Millennium Free Shows -- The

and family variety comedy show in a Sat-
urday Night Live format with local recording

event is open to the community.
Live Jazz -- Every Friday and Saturday from
8 p.m. to 11 p.m., the Third Degrees Lounge at

Oregon Black History -- The Black Museum
of Oregon group meets every Saturday, from 6

classical musical performances in Portland as
part of a unique program called Music for All.

$2 per person for general admission on the first
