Joanne Kollman’s work ‘The Arrange- ment’ and ‘Woman in Yellow’ are from works by local artists featured during January and February in the Beaverton Building, 12725 S.W. Millikan Way. Community Artists Celebrated The Beaverton Arts Commission will showcase the work of two com- munity artists as part of its effort to celebrate community values and help connect residents to their artis- tic and cultural heritage. Artworks by Stephen Kekule and Joanne Kollman will be on display in The Beaverton Building, 12725 S.W. Millikan Way until the end of Feb- ruary. “I’m happy that we can con- tinue to display the work of local artists here at The Beaverton Building,” said Mayor Denny Doyle. “They brighten up the halls with their creative and vibrant artworks.” Kekule’s work stems from his background in architecture as well as his experience working construc- tion. Kekule’s paintings are divided into two categories, places with fig- ures or places without. Kollman is a painter who uses the environment around her to capture figures, landscapes and still life. She focuses on connecting communi- ties beyond their local neighbor- hoods. The commission also has revolv- ing art exhibits at Providence St. Vincent Hospital, the Cedar Hills Recreation Center, the Progress Ridge New Seasons, and the Arti- san Salon.
