WILL CELEBRATE FOURTH Day Will Bo Fittingly Observed at Pleasure Resort. The Nation's birthday will be ob served with a rousing Fourth of July celebration at The Oaks this year. Plans for the day's programme are now being considered by Manager Freeman, of that resort. It Is proposed to have fun for everybody in generous quantities and the demonstration will conclude with an elaborate display of fireworks at nigh. 'Since there is no disposition on the part of the people of Portland to hold a formal celebration, we have decided to supply the deficiency," said President Josselyn, of the street railway company yesterday. "We will have a genuine cele bration and it will not necessarily be a 'sane' celebration either. While the de tails of the programme have not been decided, it will cover the entire day and will include various -entertaining features." Dye, of Bolenge, Africa, will speak at he First Christian Church, Park and Columbia streets, at both serv ices tomorrow. Dr. Dye will be accom panied by his wife. The church at Bolenge, Africa, is one of the most remarkable churches of mod ern times.
