Firk at Oouvallis. -A destructive fire occur
red in Corvallis on the 2d inst. It originated in
'the livery stable of George Simmons, which, with
'the large stable of Kipgs, joining, and also a
'Macks mith's shnp and a bt t her'sshop, werecon
'sunied. The fire was supposed to bo the work
of an incendiary.
Bush says he has taken steps to draw the
truth in one month. Well ho has never been
guilty of drawing a trutli(ful breath), hence
he has given himself a month to tell his first one
In. We will just advise him f.r his " stomach's
sake" to not make it like all his former truths
a false truth.
Raix. For the last four days we have had a
few specimens of genuine " Oregon mist," to tho
tune of about fof an inch of water on tho surface
in each 24 hours. -
Religious. A funeral sermon will be preach
fd in the Court House in Eugene City, on the
4ih Sunday (28th inst.) in this month by the
Rev. G. Callisoti.
