Warriors sweep the Tigers, 9-5 and 16-8
The Daily Astorian
WARRENTON — League
rivals Clatskanie and Warrenton
got a sneak peak at next year’s
lineups Tuesday, in a Junior
State Baseball doubleheader at
Huddleston Field.
And the 2016 season looks a
lot more promising for the War-
riors than the Tigers, who lost
10 seniors off their 2015 roster.
Warrenton had just nine
players available in Tuesday’s
twinbill, but still managed to
score a 9-5, 16-8 doubleheader
sweep.
“Both teams were miss-
ing some players, but that was
largely going to be (the Tigers’)
varsity team next year,” said
Warrenton coach Lennie Wolfe.
“So it was good to come away
with two wins.”
The Warriors pounded out
24 base hits in 11 total at-bats,
and had to rally from fourth-in-
