Chisholm Seaside Nov. 12, 1923 — June 11, 2015 Geraldine (Geri) L. Chisholm, a longtime ter-in-law, Darlene Chisholm of Gearhart, John resident and businesswoman of Seaside, Ore., and Joan Beneke of Gearhart, Ruby Bradley of Portland and John and Sandy Brad- passed away on June 11 at the age of 91 and in the loving care of her fami- ley of Nevada; stepchildren, Morgan (Tiffanie) Poyser, Jerry Poyser, Galen ly. Geri was born in Astoria, Ore., on Nov. 12, 1923, one of three children Poyser and Tobi Ann Haynes. She is of George F. and Augusta Peeke. She also survived by her grandchildren, Carey Beneke, Kristen Pestridge, was raised in Astoria, and as a child and young adult was a member of Steven Beneke, Amy McMahan, Kim Chisholm, Lori Chisholm, Angie Grace Episcopal Church, where she played the piano and sang solo on Hamilton, Julie Jones, Jeff Chisholm, Rob Chisholm, Shane Rockwell, many occasions. Geri married John (Bud) Shannon Knudsen, Jason Rockwell Geraldine Chisholm. Together they had four and Jef VanArsdall; and step-grand- Chisholm children, Ava Poyser, Emerson children, Florence, Richard, Robert and Frances. Bud and Geri built/ Poyser, Hayley Poyser and Jeremy remodeled and operated numerous family Haynes. She has 26 great-grandchildren. She passed away on June 14, 2015, in Lakeview, Ore. She attended school in Astoria and was crowned Queen of the Astoria Regatta in 1937. Jean graduated valedictorian of her high school class in 1938. She attended Oregon State Col- lege for two years before returning to Astoria. She was employed by the Lower Columbia Creamery until her marriage to Robert Wilkin- son Reed in September 1941. Jean was a busy farm wife while lovingly raising six chil- dren. The Reed home, on Clatsop Plains, was a bustling hub of activities. The dinner table was always crowded with immediate family, friends of the children and hungry bachelors. After the children were raised, Jean was employed as a bookkeeper for Louma CPA and Crown-Zellerbach. While working at Crown Zellerbach, Jean met, and later married, Dan C. Moore of Seaside, Ore. Jean’s retirement years were spent col- lecting button hooks, Hull pottery, Norman 5RFNZHOO¿JXULQHVDQGDQWLTXHIXUQLWXUH-HDQ enjoyed making cross-stitch samplers for her family. She enjoyed playing Skip-Bo on a dai- ly basis with family and friends. When playing cards with Jean, you needed to bring your “A” game. She always completed the daily crossword puzzles in ink.
