You must realize that this great county of MtiHno innli has conferred n grent honor upon us by doing something that it has never yet done ngreed to build, operate and maintain n free ferry here, provided we purchase the slips. Don't net the pnrt of an in grate by refusing to accept it. Cap Snow'K public confession with its "wreath of flower" on first page shows what n tunii can do if he tries. Any man can do likewise. It is altogether n question of stami na nud will txnvur. Some people nre possessed of both to 11 greater degree than others, theiefore it Is harder for some than others to iiIhiii don the liquor habit. Hut nil have the power if they will utiti.e it. Frank Sand ifer, pastor. hclitor Review: Is there nny tliiug in the rumor that the laud on the west side of the river used by the present ferry company with approaches is not n county road and is liable to be withdrawn from usage for this purpose nt nuy lime? htibscrlber. It is our understanding that the laud in question has been dedicated as 11 county road. lint It makes no difference so far as getting n free ferty is concerned. According to the bill Kiicd the only obligation upon the p.irt of the city of bt. Johns is to provide the approaches, slips nud iKiutoous. Land wits not mentioned. If the west side land ing place is not on u county road it is no nfTnir of this city's. We hnve fulfilled nil our requirements when the approaches, slips nud pontoons have been secured and the Iran- c11I.se surrendered. The county can then wrestle with the laud proposition. There is uopntticut.tr landing place designated on the west side in the bill, but the foot of I'lltsDtiig street 011 tue east side s specified. It may be moved later at the option of the county eoinmls sioiicr.s, If deemed advisable.
