The Celts started and fin- ished with wins over South Salem High School, a team the Celts hadn’t beat since the club was first formed. McNary finished sec- ond overall in its league and walked away with a winning record (7-3 in league, 10-9 overall) for the first time in its history. Trio of track and field titles for Celt trio Three was a magic number for Celtic seniors Daniel Brat- tain, Garrett Hittner and Day- sha Simms- Garcia in the Cen- tral Valley Conference track and field district meet. Simms- G a r c i a D. Brattain brought home titles in the 100, 200 and 400-meter races, she was the first female to do so in school history. She also an- G. Hittner chored a 4x400 relay team that set a new conference record at the meet. Hittner took in- dividual titles in the D. Simms-Garcia 100- and 200-meter races and shared a title in the 4x100 relay. Brattain captured district titles in the pole vault, 110- and 300-meter hurdles. Honorable mentions: Keizer athletes playing in at the next level The past year saw many Keizer seniors signing on to play for college-level teams.
