How many of us calmly consider what we would like to do, like to be, in this world of progress and in dustry? How many having concluded that we desire to do this, that, or the other thing, go farther in our consider ation and take into account the fact that to succeed in our heart's desire we must dig, slave, work unceasingly ? We must give the best that is in us or success will not crown our efforts. If we do not give our best efforts some other person working along the same line will make the supreme effort and success will go to him. There are not m iriy of our boys and girls who are incapable of success. Take our boys, for instance, in any of the trades, and they are not handicapped by anything, except it be their dispo sition. If they will but apply them selves at their trades, keeping ever .in mind the idea of mastery of detail they will succeed. But in gaining a mastery of detail they must attend to business, get right down to manual and mental effort, find out the "why" of everything and acquire skill in accomplichment. You will have to make sacrifices to be ajsuccess you cannot lead a butterfly life and be success in anything sub stantial and worth while. The same rules for success hold good for the girls. Seriousness of purpose, determination, unwearied pursuit of a given object, mark character and create a place of honor in the wold. CUTTING TABLE CLIPPINGS Tne Tailor Shop is fully able to say that, we are thankful to dear old Santa Claus for the good gifts bestowed, and we go on record as being perfectly sat isfied with his vi-it. - We do not con sider Santa's gifts for their intrinsic value; we consider only that he loves all boys and girls and we except his tokens, be they large or small, as an evidence of good will toward us. So let us. all be thankful and hope that the dear fellow will come again with new ideas, new hopes, and be fully prepared to receive, thankfully, as in the past. The New Year will find us ever hope ful for the better things, and we trust -that our efforts may bring to us 365 per cent interest on our efforts during tne year of 1911 Tailor Shop.
