Perez July 17, 1938 — Aug. 22, 2016 Our be- loved moth- er, grand- mother, sis- ter, and lovely wife of Os- car Perez passed away on Aug. 22, 2016. She lived a full and accomplished life of 78 years as a devoted Catholic believer. She is survived by her 11 chil- dren, 39 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, her husband of 63 years, many wonderful care pro- viders, and many friends and acquaintances. Her home was decorat- ed inside and out with many religious items dis- playing her faith such as statues of God, Jesus and Mary, Angels, flowers, ro- saries, holy candles, and mostly pictures of her family members, which she cherished the most. She also loved visiting churches, holy shrines and places of worship like Mt. Angel Abbey and the Grotto National Sanctu- ary. Her true passion was spending time with fam- ily, especially holding and caring for babies and chil- dren. Along with raising her children, she cared for many family mem- bers and friends with all her heart. We will always keep in our hearts the many fond memories as children growing up in a busy home that was al- ways over-crowded with grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, neighbors, friends, pets, many toys, and most of all, the won- derful smells of her deli- cious cooking and baking for us all. Her greatest gift was her love and dedication to- wards caring for her fam- ily and her husband. She will be greatly missed and always remembered by all who knew her. Funeral Mass was held at St. Paul Catholic Church. Arrangements with Unger Funeral Cha- pel. Charles “Chuck” Ernest Stadeli Jr. July 12, 1952 — Aug. 19, 2016 Chuck was a lov- ing father to his daughters Tami, Kristine, Kate, Elisa, Tessa, and Da- nika, and an adoring grandfather to Amy and Ryan. He lived 64 vibrant years in the Silverton area. He died unexpected- ly in a tragic accident while working in his shop. Preceding him in death were his parents, Charlie Sr. and Verna (Kaufman), and nephew Bradley Jen- sen. Chuck loved Harley riding, fishing, working on anything with a motor, racing, playing guitar and singing, live music, mak- ing grandma’s strawber- ry rhubarb pie, and push- ing around dirt while tending to his property. He especially loved shar- ing these things with his family. The oldest of 13 kids with 30-plus nieces and nephews who sure loved their “Uncle Yuck,” he was related to at least half of the town, and friends with the other half. He was unapologetic about being himself, and will be remembered most for how deeply he loved and how quickly he would lend a helping hand. Chuck fol- lowed in his father’s foot- steps, eventually taking over the family business as a well driller. He great- ly enjoyed his work, drilled his first solo well at age 15, and was a long time member and past president of OGWA. So- briety was one of his greatest accomplish- ments, and over 26 years he frequently sponsored others through AA, and was always willing to help another. A celebration of Chuck’s life took place Aug. 24 at Emmanuel Bi- ble Church, where Chuck was a member. Arrange- ments with Unger Funer- al Chapel. PHOTOS COURTESY OF MT. Angel Telephone staff served around 1,000 lunches to attendees during its Cus- tomer Appreciation Day Celebration Friday. “We had 14 different non-profits in attendance including Habitat for Hu- manity, Lion’s Health Screening Van, Alzheim- er Network, the Friends of the Library, Salem Keizer Transit, the His- torical Society and more,” noted Amy Russ, Mt. Angel Telephone’s product marketing man- ager. The Mt. Angel Fire Department hosted its annual Bike Rodeo, the Mt. Angel Fire Depart- ment and Marion County Sheriff’s office also had booths there at the event. The Oregon Army Na- tional Guard brought in a 30-foot climbing wall for anyone to try out, and free face painting and airbrush tattoos delight- ed children and adults alike. —Justin Much Having fun at the Habitat for Humanity exhibit during Mt.
