Silverton bows
to Wabash in
$500k contest

Silverton made a good run
but came up just short of a na-
tional victory.
Small Business Revolution
announced Thursday, May 12,
that the winner of its 500k Main
Street contest is Wabash, Indi-
ana. Silverton finished as the
runner-up. The two cities were
narrowed down by Deluxe Cor-
poration from nearly 10,000
nominations nationwide.
On Thursday Small Business
Revolution tweeted the winner
and noted on its website: “Now,
the votes are in — more than
180,000 of them! — and Wabash
is the winner of a $500,000 revi-
talization from Deluxe. The
transformation will be show-
cased in a show debuting here at
smallbusinessrevolution.org in
the fall.

The Oregon State Fair’s con-
cert lineup features equal mix
of rock and country this year.
The state fair launches on
Aug. 26 and continues through
Sept. 5 at its northeast Salem
fairgrounds.
Kicking off the fair’s open-
ing night is British-American
rock band Foreigner. Founded
in New York in 1976, Foreigner
is recognized worldwide for its
rock ‘n’ roll anthems such as

the 2015-16 Silverton High School student body. School staff
invited Stanley, who owns Broccoli Media Productions, to
make a flyover film on May 3 that will be presented to
students at the year’s end. Stanley’s quad copter-style drone
weighs 3 pounds, carries a 4K camera and is produced by DJI
Inc.
