Girls soccer returns
three varsity players

The girls soccer team will
boast a young, inexperienced
squad this year, as they return
only three varsity players,
Rylee Weber, Alexa Stewart
and Alexa Martin, but will
make up for their lack of
experience with strong team
bonds, a fierce work ethic,
and desire to compete at their
best every game.
Weber (junior) will play
midfield. Coach Jenna Pike
told The Nugget that Rylee
brings an awesome attitude
to the team and pushes her
teammates to do their best.
Weber does a great job think-
ing about what her next play
will be, and as a midfielder,
she will be able to direct the
team and take control in the
middle of the field.
Stewart returns as a soph-
omore and will play both for-
ward and at midfield. Alexa
also brings a great, upbeat
attitude to the team.
Coach Jenna Pike said,
“Alexa is very quick, which
makes her an asset as a for-
ward to make a quick goal.”
Martin (sophomore)
rounds out the veteran play-
ers and will play at midfield
and as a defender. Alexa
will play a major role in the
Outlaws defense.
Pike said, “Alexa is cau-
tious and smart while play-
ing defense, and has a kick
that can go with it. She will
be critical in our corner kicks
because of her kick.”
Joining the Outlaws squad
will be seniors Julianne
Meeter, Charlotte Barton,
Sabrina Reifschneider and
Lacey G i l m o r e, j u n i o r
Kendall Griffin, and fresh-
men Lola Green, Olivia
G o d f r e y, a n d G r a c i e
Sundstrom.
With just three return-
ing varsity players, the Lady
Outlaws are going to spend
the first few games just
checking out how every-
one plays in their current
positions.
“Even though we lack
returning players, the team
is a tight group that respects
one another and plays their
hardest,” said Pike. “I think
this will produce another
league champion team. Our
basic goal is to play our best
as a team.”
The Outlaws were to play
at home against Madras on
Tuesday in an endowment
game. Thursday, September
1, Sisters will play at
Molalla.
