Volunteer for Parks Board
The City of Sisters is accepting
applications for two volunteers:
one “out-of-city” and one “in-
city” for the Sisters City Parks
Advisory Board. The Board
advises the City Council on
matters pertaining to public
parks, trails and open spaces.
The board typically meets once
a month and consists of seven
(7) members. Applications can
be found at www.ci.sisters.or.us
or at Sisters City Hall, 520 E.
Cascade Ave. Ammlications are
due by 5 m.m. Friday, August

Free SFF Concert
On Saturday, August 22, Sisters
Folk Festival presents a free
summer concert! Enjoy singer/
songwriter Keith Greeninger’s
easygoing California folk music,
with Anna Tivel opening.
The show will take place at
Fir Street Park at 6:30 p.m.

“Tools for School”
Les Schwab Tire Center in
Sisters is now hosting an annual
school-supplies drive. Supplies
will be distributed from the
Sisters FAN offi ce the week
of August 24. Please drop off
items at the Sisters Les Schwab.
New supplies needed include
index cards, wooden rulers,
1-1/2" three-ring binders,
composition notebooks, Fiskars
scissors, glue sticks, pencils,
pens and backpacks for all

Christian Basics Bible Series
Beginning August 20, the fi rst
and third Thursday each month
from 5 to 7 p.m., a Christian
study on many topics will take
place at 324 W. Washington
Ave. A light dinner is available

hope, prayer, perseverance,
witnessing and more, with a

10K Challenge, Run
to the Top of Black Butte!
Sisters Kiwanis is holding a 10K
run to benefi t service projects
and club scholarships. The 10K
race up Black Butte Saturday,
September 19 will have 3,200
feet of elevation gain and is
limited to 200 runners. Register

New-student orientation for
incoming freshmen (9th-graders)
