CLARIFICATION
The original accusation
of conflict of interest against
City Attorney Steve Bryant
in the McKenzie Meadows
senior living facility mat-
ter came from attorney
Michael Repucci, represent-
ing senior living facility
developer Mark Adolf, as
noted in the June 24 story
“Planners approve senior liv-
ing facility.”
Bryant was called into
question for alleged conflict-
of-interest claims regarding
his firm’s relationship with
Kevin Cox and Ageia Health
Services, applicant for devel-
opment of the senior liv-
ing facility at McKenzie
Meadows Village. Mike
Morgan and Ed Protas made
an issue of the accusation in
an email to the City. Bryant
wrote a letter to City Council
in response to the Morgan/
Protas email, stating that “...
my office does not represent
Kevin Cox or Ageia Health
Services, LLC in connection
with any matters involving
the City of Sisters, including
any development application
or other ‘disputes.’ Mr. Cox
and Ageia Health Services,
LLC have been and continue

to 13 years
PENDLETON (AP) —
The leader of a Pendleton
white supremacist gang has
been sentenced to more than
13 years in prison.
The East Oregonian
reports 31-year-old Jeremiah
Mauer was sentenced
Thursday after pleading
guilty to conspiracy to com-
mit murder and two counts
of second-degree assault.
He agreed to a plea deal that
allowed him to avoid a trial
where he could have faced 14
additional charges.
The conspiracy charge
is connected to a shoot-
ing at a Pendleton home in
November 2014. The assault
charges stem from incidents
last fall.
Pendleton Police Chief
Stuart Roberts has said
Mauer was the founder of
the United Aryan Empire
group that was responsible
for a series of fights and
shootings last year. Two fel-
low gang members have
made plea deals and await
sentencing.
to be represented by Laura
Cooper, an attorney in Bend,
Oregon, regarding their
development application.
“Another attorney in my
office does represent Mr.
Cox relative to some per-
sonal matters and to the for-
mation and management of
his corporations. None of
that work involves any issues
concerning the City of Sisters
and there is no conflict in our
representation of the City…”
Bryant said his firm
would “treat the matter as a
potential conflict of interest,
which can be waived by the
City and Mr. Cox.”
