Outlaws boosters
launch Hall of Fame
The Outlaws Booster
Club will honor outstanding
Outlaws with its first Hall of
Fame induction ceremony at
FivePine Lodge & Confer-
ence Center on June 25.
“The idea is to honor and
recognize those who have
contributed to Sisters High
School programs — not just
athletic programs, but other
programs as well — in the
past,” said event spokesman
Don Pollard.
Inductees could include
past students, coaches and
teachers.
Seven individuals, groups,
or teams will be inducted in
each of the first five years of
the Hall of Fame, then the
number will go down to five.
“Right now there’s an
abundance of candidates
because it’s never been
done,” said Pollard.
A committee will select
the inductees, but anyone
can make a nomination at
www.SHShalloffame.org.
The deadline for nominations
is May 1.
The Hall of Fame induc-
tion is tying in with the Out-
law Open golf fundraising
event held the next day at
Aspen Lakes Golf Course.
“Really they’re two
separate events, but we’re
kind of putting them
together,” Pollard explained.
“We’re trying to kickstart the
Outlaw Open again, get it
filled.”
The Outlaw Open is a sig-
nificant fundraiser for Out-
laws co-curricular programs.
Proceeds from the events
will be distributed to Sisters
School District programs
based on a specific formula.
Fifty percent of net proceeds
are distributed to all SHS ath-
letic programs based on each
program’s respective per-
centage of actual operating
costs; 10 percent of net pro-
ceeds are distributed to SHS
for allocation towards other
SHS co-curricular activi-
ties like band, choir, Science
Club, and other co-curricular
programs.
Five percent of net pro-
ceeds are distributed to Sis-
ters Elementary School.
Five of net proceeds are
distributed to Sisters Middle
School.
Thirty percent of net pro-
ceeds are distributed to the
Outlaw Booster Club for
allocation in a manner con-
sistent with its mission to
enhance Outlaws co-curricu-
lar activities.
